Seoul Metro Line 9 (Sector 909) was the site of the one of the only three large-diameter shield tunnels to be built in Korea at the time of its construction. The Gangnam Beltway Expressway runs from Doksan-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul to Suseo-dong, Gangnam-gu, with a total length of 22.9 km. As an urban highway, the width of the road is 6~8 lanes, including 3 tunnels, 2 business offices, and 2 ICs. Of the total sections, 12.4km spanning Geumcheon-gu, Gwanak-gu, and Seocho-gu is private- invested, with a total project cost of KRW 2.4612 trillion (including KRW 909.8 billion in private investment portion). In addition, to minimize damage to nature, tunnels were dug, spanning as long as 11 kilometers of the total extension. The total length of the Dongdaegu Station Elevated Bridge is 0.565 km, which is located around the entire area of Dongdaegu Station in Sinam-dong and Sincheon-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu-si. The elevated bridge is 338 meters long and the access road is 227meters. The bridge is a civil structure that connects the Gyeongbu High-speed Railway Phase 2 opening and the transfer center and the surroundings of the station; and it also has symbolism as a gateway to Daegu City.
